Lead Engineer (Facilities Maintenance)

Location: Bristol, UK
Salary: £42,000 per annum
Benefits: 25 days holiday + 8 bank holidays
Schedule: Monday to Friday (Days), with Call-Out Rota
We are seeking a skilled Lead Engineer with a strong electrical bias to join a dynamic team based at a large depot in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a static basis, overseeing maintenance operations critical to the functionality and safety of the depot.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and coordinate maintenance activities, focusing on electrical systems and equipment.
Conduct routine inspections, testing, and repairs of electrical installations.
Respond promptly to reactive maintenance issues and participate in a call-out rota.
Supervise and support a team of maintenance technicians.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Collaborate with other departments to optimise facility performance.
Qualifications and Experience:
Qualified electrician with relevant electrical certifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent).
Proven experience in a facilities maintenance role, ideally within a similar industrial environment.
Strong understanding of electrical systems, including controls and instrumentation.
Knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, and general building maintenance is advantageous.
Experience leading a team and managing maintenance projects.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
About the Role: The Lead Engineer will spend approximately 70% of their time conducting hands-on maintenance tasks and 30% overseeing and coordinating activities. This role requires a proactive individual who can effectively manage priorities and ensure the smooth operation of critical systems.
